I have not gone to a yoga class in over a year. Maybe as far as 2.
Last night with Carolyn and Ainsley I went to a hot foundation. The class was full like 50 people but the room is a long rectangle so you only notice 10 people. (I noticed one person in particular)
Today I'm heading back to my monthly drain of 45 dollars gym membership. I figure if I am paying it I should be going. With my ankle still feeling sore it's time. This Saturday is 14K run. NERVOUS but I know it's possible.

Saskatoon stole my heart.
I think this ankle business might be my new shoes. The top part is rubbing down on my foot. If this is the problem it's a costly one. Those shoes were 140. I'm gonig to take out the old shoes just to compare. The photo's are from my Friday Morning run just outside Saskatoon at my cabin.

Trees are my motivation. As I run I pick my next tree to run to. This was one of them most beautiful tree to set as a goal. The weather was at -10. I blinked with my frosted eyelashes across the prairie. A nice 30 minute run.
With this ankle business I have been advised to switch to cross training. Off to the gym this week. Thursday is my first hill training session. Excited and nervous.
Too feeling better and working hard.

I almost forgot I recieved my first donation. It came from my lovely grandparents for 100 dollars. YEAH!!!!! 98% more to go.

Hobble Hobble.
Friday night it was so nice in the city. My paper done and finally free to focus on running.
Just a 5K run. Very hard. Very exhausted.
Then I had a restless sleep with the soon approaching 10K group run. I haven’t run 10K since November. Then I also haven’t putting in the training I should be. This week I’m signing up for a spin class at the YMCA just to give me motivation.
8:30 and the weather went from 10 degrees when I got home last night to -5. Its okay I had my red long john suit. At 10:30 Breakfast with the Levesque Sisters.1:30 wedding with the Tait Sisters. 9:00 Movie with Francine. Busy day full of wonderful ladies.
When I started writing this I couldn’t walk very well. My legs hurt and I was so upset about my horrible run. With reflection it wasn’t horrible just not the best it should have been. Obviously weekly workouts are needed. The run was one of the hardest in my life. I know all runners have bad days, I just don't want mine so early. I pushed the pace to quick in my first 5 and was burnt out by 7. Walked the rest.
Today I fell alright. My core is a little sore but my legs feel fine. I did have an alternating shower between hot and cold last night to help with lactic acid. If you know the proper way to deal with the buildup let me know. This 1 minute cold and one minute hot business was googled from men’s health. (Cold showers not my thing)
Next Saturday I will be in Saskatoon and will miss my group training. More training during the week.

I know I know, the guilt.
Okay. Long hard school week.
No running. I will pay during Saturday's 10K.
Also I need to sign up for fitness classes during the week for my cross training.
Making it to the gym just isn't happening.
Reading week is coming up, my focus is going to get back on track.
Not running but thinking about running,

I know I know. (but it's cold)
Okay i haven't run since Saturday. I was lazy and didn't do hill training. Scared to return to my run club at school. 3 month break, oh my.
Then today in my Email,
"Well, unfortunately, the weather is going to be just too cold to have our GTS this Saturday. They are now forecasting Saturday morning to be -30C, with a windchill of -42C. "
Yes relief. But then I must brave the cold myself. (Or not run)
I have been paying for a YMCA membership and not going. 42.45 each month. I nice reminder of my lack of fitness each month on the visa.
This post is the inspiration to go out there and run tomorrow.
Let's all think of warm times. (Ie. The photo of me 4 years ago in Vanuatu)
Back at it,
Mathew John.
