Friday night it was so nice in the city. My paper done and finally free to focus on running.
Just a 5K run. Very hard. Very exhausted.
Then I had a restless sleep with the soon approaching 10K group run. I haven’t run 10K since November. Then I also haven’t putting in the training I should be. This week I’m signing up for a spin class at the YMCA just to give me motivation.
8:30 and the weather went from 10 degrees when I got home last night to -5. Its okay I had my red long john suit. At 10:30 Breakfast with the Levesque Sisters.1:30 wedding with the Tait Sisters. 9:00 Movie with Francine. Busy day full of wonderful ladies.
When I started writing this I couldn’t walk very well. My legs hurt and I was so upset about my horrible run. With reflection it wasn’t horrible just not the best it should have been. Obviously weekly workouts are needed. The run was one of the hardest in my life. I know all runners have bad days, I just don't want mine so early. I pushed the pace to quick in my first 5 and was burnt out by 7. Walked the rest.
Today I fell alright. My core is a little sore but my legs feel fine. I did have an alternating shower between hot and cold last night to help with lactic acid. If you know the proper way to deal with the buildup let me know. This 1 minute cold and one minute hot business was googled from men’s health. (Cold showers not my thing)
Next Saturday I will be in Saskatoon and will miss my group training. More training during the week.
Running across the prairies,
